The Calliope and Lizard have just come, in, the former having Admiral Fairfax on board. Naben and I are just going off to see him. It turns out that the shooting of the Samoan women i 3 incorrect. They were*fired at by Tamesese's people, but not killed or even wounded. They lay down in the mud and pretended to be dead, and both sides thought they were. But itturns oub otherwise. The Calliope; and Lizard leave on Friday for Fiji People here, i.e., British residents, are going to try to get the Admiral to leave the Lizard in port.
