Mr, Moat, M.H.R., recently telegraphed to the Hon. G. F. Richardson, urging the reappointment of Mr Elliott to the position of Sheep Inspector, and to ■ day he received the following reply: — "Just from trip. Elliott's dismissal is a matter which I regret being unable to re-consider, also Bay ley's appointment, both cases having been determined on after careful -consideration. — (Sd.) G. F. Richarpsox." This decision will nob tend to allay the prevailing discontent among sheep-farmers, and the Minister will probably have to explain more fully in Parliament his obstinate disregard of the expressed wishes and opinions of Auckland members and sheepowners in this matter. Hats! Hats ! Hats !—Hard and soft felts, tweed, and straw hats, at less than wholesale cost, at Fowlds's sale of Allen's bankrupt stock.—(Advt.)
