False Representation.--Robert Montgomery Hamilton again appeared in answer to the charge of having endeavoured to impose u pon John Walker by a certain false representation in writing an order purporting to be signed by one Ah Chee, with a view to obtaningthesumoflOs-.Theprisonerpleaded guilty at a formor sitting of the Court, when the case was adjourned in order to allow the Probation Officer to report.-Mr Roston handed in his report this morning, but as it was not favourable to the prisoner being admitted to probation His Worship sentenced the prisoner to 10 days' imprisonment with hard labour.

Failing' to Provide.—Charles Chester was charged with having failed to comply with an order of the Court to support his wife and child.—Mr Brassey appeared for the complainant and Mr F. Earl for the defendant.—Mrs Sarah Chester deposed to orders having been'made against her husband, and to having received payments thereon to the extent of £6.—By Mr Earl: She was now living in Welling-ton-street. Three or four years ago she had a boarder, but she had not spoken to him since her marriage with Chester. She was at present supporting herself, and the Charitable Aid Board was assisting to support her children.—Constable Walker, of Otahuhu, gave formal evidence with regard to the order having been made at the R.M. Court of Otahuhu, March 27th, 1888. Mrs Chester had borne a good character ever since her marriage. Witness had not previously been acquainted with her.— By Mr Earl: He knew that the defendant had lost his farm aud that he was cuindigging for a livelihood.'—John Strathern, visiting oflicer of tr.c Auckland Charitable Aid Board, also £aye evidence.—Mr Earl contended that as the order had not been proved, the case had failed through. —Mr Braosey asked for adjournment to produce the order.—Mr Earl objected, a.s his client had been arrestedandwas imprisoned. Ultimately His Worship decided to adjourn the case until next Tuesday. The defendant was allowed bail on his own recognisances in £10 and one surety in £10, Struck Ofj? the Roll.—Samuel Yosman Collins v. Joseph Warren, of Karanga.. bane Road.—The plaintiff was the Registrar of Electors for Auckland Central. He applied to have the defendant's name struck off the rolls.—The application was granted, the usual costs being allowed.
