Outwards Coastwise. — Wear, cutter, for .Waiheke, in ballast. At the Queen-street Wharf the ship Wairoa is discharging her London cargo. ■ The schooner Magellan Cloud will shortly proceed to the Thames to load timber for Brisbane. On September 13th, the New Zealand Shipping Company's ship Waitangi left London for Auckland direct. -Messrs Stone Bros, have chartered the barque G. M. Tucker, now at the Kaipara, to load timber at Shelly Beach, Kaipara, for Melbourne. About 1 o'clock this afternoon, the schooner Waiapu got away for Gisborne via Mercury Bay and East Coast, with general cargo and two passengers. The brigantine Aratapu is now on her way to this port from Melbourne. The schooner Jessie Niccol will be shortly due from Hobart, and ■ the schooner Sarah Pile was to leave Tonga about this date for this port.

Last evening the schooner Christine sailed for Norfolk Island and Noumea with general cargo. Her owner, Captain John McLiver, who was in a very weak state of health when he arrived here, has quite recovered, and went away with the vessel under his own charge.

To-day, at the Railway Wharf, the Schooner Maud Graham is discharging her cargo of wheat. When she has unloaded she will take in general cargo for Te Kopuru, having been chartered, through Messrs C. F. James and Co , her Auckland agents, to convey a shipment ot kauri from the mills there to Dunedin. Captain Fitzgerald expects that he will bo finished discharging by Saturday.

About 5.50 this morning the s.s. Clans-man-arrived from' Russell and Northern port's -.with the following passengers:— Mesdames Thomas, BRkwell, Slator, Miss Benjaman, Messrs J. Christie, J. Wigmore, R. McLeod, Carver, G. W. Horsley, J. BeH, Cleave, Grosvenor, Swenburn, Martin, Empage, Dr. Bakwell, and 7 steerage. The following is her cargo list :—SO sheep, .2 horses, 237 sacks gum, 73 cases gum, 3 tons sundries.

About 10 o'clock this morning the brigantine Gleaner arrived from Bris. bane with a cargo of bonedust and coalOf the passage Captain Hugh Patterson reports :—Left Brisbane on September 26th, lay at pilot station until morning of 29th oh account of strong S.E. winds; left oh 29th, and experienced N. and JN.il-. winds until the afternoon, of the sth, The wind now increased to a strong gale, which continued for some clays. Rounded North Cape at 10 p.m. on Saturday, the 6th, and on Monday put into Kawau on account of a strong S.W. wind, which prevented the vessel from making any headway. Left Kawau the following day, and made Waiheke, where the vessel anchored until next day. On Wednesday night anchored under Rangitoto reef, and this morning beat up to North Head, where the vessel was taken in tow by the tug Awhina and conveyed up to the Hobson-street Wharf.

.-' Shortly after ten o'clock last night the s.s. Arawata arrived from Wellington with passengers and cargo ex the direct sbeamer Tongariro. Her passenger lisb is as follows ; __For Auckland ; Saloon, Mrz FogW.U, Misses Fogwiil (6), Babes, Eliingbam,

Messrs Fogwill (2), Dutton, Isaacs, Tono., and Masters Fog-will (3); steerage, Mesdames Holland and 4 children, and Sheffield, Messrs Cottle, Jackman, Holland, and Mathers. For Tauranga :- lr Stewart, Mrs Stein and infant. From Wellington : Messrs Naismith and Evans. Of the trip up the coast Mr Walker, the purser, reports that the Arawata left Wellington at 6.30 p.m. on the 9th, and cleared Cape Palliser at 10 p.m. ; Portland Island was abeam at 3 p.m. on the 10th, and the steamer rounded the East Cape at midnight; Cape Colville was abeam at 6.10 p.m. on the llth, and the steamer was berthed at the wharf at 10.10 p.m. She experienced variable winds with fine weather to East Cape, thence strong S.W. winds to arrival. To-day the Arawata was engaged discharging her Auckland cargo, and after taking in freight she leaves for Fiji on Sunday.
