The following tenders have been receivedby the visitors of the Kohimarama Institu*■:" for a steam launch for the v • of the school:—Friend, £180; Carr, ~£lßs and £252; Burnett^ £186i;j 18s 6d -;• Bailey,' £232 10s ; Yoeman, £245; Holmes and Me-; Croskie, £247 ss ; > Oxenham Ellis, £273 10s. Mr David Goldie, M."H.R.,; has sent the tenders to the Minister of ■:> Education, Hon. Mr Fisher, to see if the ■' Government • would be prepared; to increase the sum then promised, to donate; £25, ;as the: launch- will become their entire .property.^ It may be mentioned that £J.lO has already been collected in Auckland'for the purchase of the launch.
