The latter offered ,a. -stubborn defence, and were able to keep the attacking" fdroe at bay until relieved by. the arrival of troops from Wandy Haifa. The Dervishes had two hundred of their number killed, while the loss of the Egyptians amounted to sixteen 'killed and thirty wounded. ■ ! - ' ■ ■ •
