TAKAPUNA ROAD BOARD'S MEETING.
ANOTHER .LIVELY ALTEE CATION.
An extraordinary meeting of the Lake Takapuna Road Board was held at th c Board's Office last evening, for the/purpose of appointing a member to sign cheques in the place of Mr Harrow, who had declined to do so, for reasons .previously stated. There were present: Messrs Hodges (Chairman), McKay, Carr, Budge, Kelly, and Harrow- Mr p. Oliphant, solicitor, was also present to represent Mr Harrow, The Chairman read the notice convening the meeting, and then moved : "That the resolution appointing Mr Harrow to sign cheques on the Board'saccounbberescinded, and Mr Budge appointed to sign cheques in his stead." Mr Oliphant rose to address .the meeting oh behalf of Mr Harrow, but the Chairman refused to hear him, as he was not a member of the Board. Mr Oliphant persisted, but the Board declined to listen to him. Mr Harrow protested against the ruling of the Chairman, and the Chairman invited Mr Harrow to make any explanation he chose.. ..'::;"■;. , Mr Harrow-then 'stated that the cheques which he refused to sign were nob legal cheques. Mr Budge pointed out that these cheques were passed by the Board, and Mr Harrow remarked this was not so, .9 he (Mr Harrow) h»d_ objected to the; cheques being passed. ■ Mr Oliphant again rose to address the Meeting, and the Chairman haying aeain objected, some sharp ci-ossrfiring took place between them, but eventually the resolvi; tion was put to the meeting and'carried, Mr Harrow being the only dissentient. ■ This concluded the business.
