Drunkenness; —One first offender wag fined 5s and costs, or 24 hours in default. Kate Patterson was fined 10s and costs, or 48 hours. John Williams was fined £1 and costs, or indefaultfour days'hardlabour, for having been drunk and disorderly. A Hakd Case.—John Gingal was charged under the Police Offences Act with having no visible means of support.—lnspector Broham said that he wasC prepared to produce evidence as to the man's character.—; John '"_. Strathearn, Visiting Officer of .the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, deposed tbat the man had been in receipt of relief. They had him placed in lodgings.— His Worship decided; to give the ; man another chance to get work, as he did nob like sending a man to gaol merely because he was poor or could not get. work. Another Deserter.—James - Bailey, a deserter from. ; H.'M'.B. Nelson, was further reminded for one week. >. Straying House.— Adam Emeria pleaded guilty to haying allowed his horse to stray, at Devonport, and was fined 5s and costs.
