The pugilistic match between Donovan and Coyle on Saturday night was largely patronised. The former undertook to knock out Coyle in eight rounds and accomplished his task in six. The soakes were £5 a-side and the proceeds. Another match for £10 a-side was to-day arranged for Wednesday between Coyle and Bird.

James Callender, one of Philip Laing passengers, died on Sunday at his residence, East Taieri; aged 81.
