ARRIVAL OF THE TARAWERA.
Tho s.s. Tarawera, W. C. Sinclair commander, arrived here to-day ab 10 a.m., from Melbourne via the South. Mr Humphries, the fmrser, reports of the passage : Left Melbourne on July 18th, and arrived in Bluff on Sunday, after a run of 3 days 20 hours ; left again on the 23rd, and arrived in Dunedin on the 24th at 8 a.m. ; left again on the 25th at 4 p.m., and after calling at Lyttelton and Wellington, arrived in .Napier on the 28th at neon ; left again same day at 9 p.m., and arrived in Gisborne on the 29th at 7 a.m. ; left again sameday atlO a.m.,and arrived in Auckland as above. Experienced moderate and fine weather up coast. ■ Passengers :—Misses Ruseborg, Allom, Kane, Doran, Hair, Mesdames Davis, Allom, Bayliss, Mitchell, Messrs Williams, Johnston, Prictor, McBriar, Overton, Johnston, Piiie, Cruickehank, Nation, Bayliss, Tun-ell, Captain Whitney, McLenuofi, Levy, Hunter, and 15 in steerage.
