Mr R. WALKER occupied the chair at the meeting of this Company yesterday afternoon. TheChairman,inmoving theadoption of the report a3 published in our issue yes. terday, made an explanation of the variou s items. He spoke veiy hopefully of tho future of the Company. The opening of the new mine meant a saving of £1,500 or £1,600 a yearto the Company. Theadoption of the report was seconded by Mr Winstonc. —Capbain Rich thought they had ab lasb sob the righb bhing in bhe righb placo.—Mr Friar. Clarke spoke in highly commendatory terms of the work of the directors during the past six months, and was delighted with the purchase they had made.—The resolution was pub and carried.—Mr J. H. Mason proposed, and Mr Friar Clarke seconded, a vote of thanks to the directors for their endeavour? during the pasb half-year.—Carried unanimously.
