THE FEDERATED AMMUNITION FACTORY.
Albuey, Tuesday.
A public meeting of ratepayers was held at the Town-hall for the purpose of receiving the report of the deputation appointed to interview the Colonial Secretary respecting the establishment of a federal small arni3 and ammunition factory at Albury. After tho members of the deputation had given an account of their interview, which in effect was that Sir Henry Parkes highly favoured Albury as a site, and would recommend it as his selection when the matter was under the consideration of the Government, the meeting was addressed by several citizens.
It was unanimously resolved " That an invitation be sent to Captain Whitney to visit Albury so as to satisfy himself as to its suitability for the establishment of tho factories proposed by him; and thafc tho invitation be sent through the borough Council."
