POULTRY, PIGEON AND CANARY SHOW.
The Poultry, Pigeon and Canary Show at* tracted a large number of visitors both yesterday and to-day. The silver cup for best bird in the Show was awarded to a bantam hen exhibited by J. Cornwell, and in which, as one critic remarked, there was scarcely a mouthful, and in this case the decision of the judges is received with soma objection, but as a rule the awards have given general satisfaction. The five special prizes and also the silver medal of the Society was won by Mr Thos. Phillips as follows : Two specials for best cockerel, ono special for best pair, one special for best bird, one silver cup for best pullet. .Such a record for a pair in cne season has never before occurred in the colony. The Ist, 2nd, and 3rd prize birds will be sold by auction at three o'clock to-morrow (Saturday) afternoon in the Show-room.
