A RIOTOUS PRISONER.

Dunedin, this day. At tho City Court, Thomas Barrett, a prisoner, was charged with riotous conduct in prison. The gaoler explained tha prisoner was about to be discharged but ho "played up" so much that he felt obliged to bring tho caso before tho Justices. The prisoner's defence was that he gob mad on account of another prisoner prpvoking him. He was sentenced to a month's hard labour.
