POLICE COURT—THIS DAY.
(Before Messrs S. Y. Collins and J. Gilmore, Justices.)
DRUNfcESKESS.— One first offender was fined 5s and costs or 24 hours' in default. John Page pleaded guilty to having been drunk and disorderly in Hobson-street, and also to having resisted Constable Cotter. He was fined £5 and costs, or three months' imprisonment with hard labour in default. Brraoh of By - saws.—James Sherry pleaded guilty to having trotted his horse around the corner of Queen and Wellesleyetreets on the 26fch of June.—He said that the horse waa a Vburig one and not thoroughly manageable.—Constable Rovvles deposed to the nature of the offence.—Defendant was fined ss, arid coSts 7s. James McGregor pleaded guilty to a similar offence. He said he was a stranger in the plkce, having dhly Been in employment a fortnight. :<-Under thft circumstances the Bench dismissed the case. Charles Sanders pleaded guilty to having allowed hi 3 horse to stand across a footpath in Russell-street, and was lined 5s and costs.
Provoking Language.—Sate McManus was charged with using, provbking language to one Sarah Home; -^-The prosecutor > Withdrew tlie charge. : ■
