Thames, this day.
Saxon.—2slb of picked stone were obtained from the hanging wall portion of reef on leading stope in No 3. level. The mine manager reports that the contractors are making fair progress and the face is now 90 feot from the shaft. The reef is still small, from 3 to 4 inches in very good country, but bo far no gold has beeia seen in the quartz. Two or three pounds of picked stone came to hand to.day from the hanging wall portion of main reef at No. 3 level. Amalgam on hand is 3160z3 lOdwts.
New Prince Imperial.—Gold is being freely seen in the western stopes on No. 1 reef above No. 3 level. Though not large the roof should prove payable. Two men are now engaged stoping on the hanging wall of reef. There is a rib of good-looking quartz with plenty of mineral, but no gold bo far.
New Fearnought.—The winze is now down 9 ieet, through a splendid class of country. The ground is a complete network of mineral veins. The main stringers two inches thick show colours of gold in breaking down. The main drive has been timbered and the crosscut may now be continued.
