Railway Cbqssixg. —The Minister,for Public Works wrote stating that the Government had nob, at present .funds sufficient to allow of their erecting gates at the railway crossings in Newmarket. Considerable surprise was expressed : at the tone of the letter, when .the Government had promised that, the work would be.done three months ago.—lt was decided to send the letter to.Sir M. Boundary Road.—A letter was received from the Town Clerk ofthe Parriell Borough making an; appointment, for the" /Streets Committees of the two boroughs to meet this morning "to settle about the work done on Park. Tender' fob A'SKUILiiNG.--Messrs KiiigW, and Fowlenvetfe'tWofily tenderers1 for boihq asphalting requiring, doing. ,:The tender was 160 yardsj more or less, at. 2s 9d/ per yard. The opinion was expressed by tho ; Councillors that the work could be done for ' considerably less, so the matter was deferred for the present; ■ ,v , Streets Committee.-The .report of the ; Streets Committee was read; They recommended that a track of metal about W feet wide should be laid on the side of the street already built upon. It was decided that the work should be done, and .tenders called for the same.
