FISHER AND MITCHELSON.

ALLEGED DISSENSION IN THE

CABINET.

(BY TELEGRAPH —OWN REPORTER.)

Wellington, thi3 clay. All kinds of stories are current respecting the supposed differences in the Cabinet, and I give the following, from the " Press," for what it is worth :—" Report has it that a feud between two members of the Ministry has reachod tho point of one of them inatigating a private member to place a motion on tho Order Paper which reflects upon tho administration of the other. The two Ministers in question are the Hon. Mr Mitchelson and the Hon. G. Fisher, and the motion referred to has reference to the Government Printing Office. It is said that liv Fisher wrote out the motion, and got Mr Cadman innocontly to move it in tho House, Mr Fisher's object being^ to bring out facts which should prove that ne had done his best to get the contract let in Wellington, whereas his colleague, Mr Mitchelson, had int.rigued to get the contract let to an Auckland linn. The motion should come up to-day, and unless great tact is exercised, it is anticipated the result may even lead to an open rupture between the Ministers in tha House. Reverting, however, to the position, it is the opinion of many members that whatever else may happen a reconstruction of Iho Cabinet is certain before long, but there ace not wanting indications that th* Government can't stand in the face of tho proposals brought down, despite the sop thrown to the protectionists.' Mr Cadman says the paragraph is exaggerated, while Mr Fisher declares tho whole story is untrue. There 13 no feud whatever in the Cabinet, and the feeling between Ministers could not be better than it is. Thero was a question on tho Order Paper affecting this Printing Office matter, and at the Premier's wish it was postponed till to-morrow.
