Hearn lw_ received a letter from tho chair" man of tho Eivorton Regatta Committeethat, that body are anxious to' arrange a sculling match between tho champion of New Zealand unci Palamouiilain. of Port Chalmers, to take place atltivcrton on Nov. 9, or any later date that may be agreed upon. The writer adds that if the two men will each sub scribe £25, the Rivcrton people will find £50, so as to make a prize of £100. Hriarn is c.U tc willing to race Palamountain about the end of the year, imd intends to write to tho Rivcrton Regatta Committee to that effect. , The races for the Viee-Coinmodoro's medals in connection with St. George's Rowing Club will take place to-morrow afternoon, at 2.30 q'clock, when all members are requested to bo in attendance. The course fixed is from Railway Wharf, and finishing at St. George's Bay.
