Te Kor _ ru, this day. With reference to the rescue of the two mon in a boat by the barque Howard I could nob obtain the names of the boat's occupants, bub they belong to Noumea. They stated . that they were pearl oyster fishing and were driven off tho land by a gale. They were seventeen daya out when they were picked up by the Howard and were 500 miles from Noumea and 400 miles from Australia. One of tho men is said to be the owner of the boat, and has a wife and children at Noumea. The Howard sails for Helensville to-day there to load.
