Drunkenness.—One woman was fined for this offence, and Andrew Williamson for the further offence of disorderly conduct, wa 3 mulcted in a penalty of £20s and costs.

No Means. — William Odams, alias Adams, a young man, was charged with having no visible lawful means of support. —Mr Baume, who appeared for the prisoner, said Odams would avail himself of any opportunity to clear out of Auckland. He asked for a remand to enable him to get away. Sergeant Pratt said the accused had been imposing on a number of boarding-house keepersandonly recently the accused had been punished forasimilar ottenc. His Worship characterised Odains's conduct as disgraceful, and allowed the prisoner his liberty on the understanding that he would be arrested again if he was fouud in town after to-morrow.

Desertion.—Walter Isley was charged with desertion from H.M.s. Nelson, and was remanded in order that ha might be placed on board tho first vessel of the squadron coming to Auckland. Neighbours' Quarrels. — Mrs Watson was charged with using abusive and insulting language to Mrs Mildon. Mr Humphreys appeared for the prosecutor, and Mr O'Meagher for the defence. The parties live in Haidinge-street, and the evidence showed that ihe case was the outcome of a neighbours' quarrel. Evidence having been taken, the defendant wits bound over for sist months in her husband's surety of £25, and another bond of a like amount.
