BOOTMAKERS' DISPUTE.

Wellington, this day.

Mr Jo in McCleary, who at one time resided in Auckland, waited on the Minister of Justice yesterday morning with reference to a case, brought by him against the Bootmakers' Society a few days ago for the recovery of £5 which he paid to that body so that a friend named Clifford might be allowed to work ;at Hannah's factory. McCleary represented that his position was a very hard one, inasmuch as the men in Hinnah's establishment prevented Clifford from working, and the Society would not refund the £5. Mr Fergus agreed that the case was a hard one, and promised to look into the matter-
