WESLEYAN DISTRICT MEETING.
Yesterday evening's session opened with hymn 872, and prayer was offered by the Rev. C. i_. Barley.
A considerable portion of time was de" voted to the preparation of work for the financial district meeting.
Under the question, " Can any measures be adopted for tho promotion of tho work of God •>" the Secretary read tho resolutions on pastoral work published in the minutes of the English Conference for 1885. Cheering testimony was borne by several of the brethren to the progress of the work of God in parts of the district, and also to the blessings received in connection with this district meeting. The brethren were encouraged to find that thero was a net increase of 72 members in the district, upon the year. In dependence upon divine grace, the brethren determined to renew their personal consecration to Christ, and thus seek a revival of the work of God in tho snnctilication of believers, and in the conversion of sinners in the several circuits. At half-past four the meeting adjourned for the financial sessions, which commenced this (Tuesday) morning at half-past nine.
