BURGLARY AT PONSONBY.
Foe many months past we have enjoyed almost complete immunity from the depredations of the " enterprising burglar," bufc during the past few days he seems to have thrown off his lethargy and to be again at business. Last evening the grocery store of Mr Tripp, situated at the corner of Kichmond Road and Lincoln-street, Ponsonby, was broken into and £6 worth ot goods taken. The back door was found to have been prized open after an unsuccessful attempt to obtain ingress through _ a window. As the goods taken comprise canned meet and tobacco, it is supposed that the robbers were en route for the gumfields. • ■ - ■
