CHURCH PARADE AT ONEHUNGA.
The " H " Troop (Ist Regiment New Zealand Cavalry), commanded by Captain E. G. Leger Erson, paraded ab Wattle's Epsom Hotel on Sunday morning at ten o'clock* there being present:—l Captain, 1 Lieutenant, 1 Veterinary Surgeon, and 28 noncommissioned officers and men. The troop rode to Onehunga, being met at the Royal Oak by the Onelumga N*»val Artillery, numbering 55, and band, commanded by Captain Hulse, the Artillery Band, under the conductorship of Bandmaster Hunter, and the Onehunga original brass- band, led by Bandmaster W. Hunter. The two latter bands amalgamated and marched in front of the Dragoons, the Onehungja Navals, headed by their band, bringing up the rear. Doctor W. R. Erson, surgeon of the Royal Irish Rides, was also present. The force, as it arrived at Hb. Peter's Church, presented quite a gay and martial appearance. During the service the congregation had a treat which they had not anticipated. On hymn 391 (Onward,Criristian Soldiers) being given out, the Artillery Band, to the astonishment and evident delight of all, supplied tho music, which was executed in a most masterly manner. Tho efl'ect was exceedingly good, and thoroughly appreciated by every devotee present. A very ableandappropriato sermon was preached by the Rev. W. E. Mulgan, after which during the offertory the band again rendered a voluntary. After church the Dragoons and Navals fell in and marched to their respective places of parade to the lively strains of the different bands, the possible result being that very few of the young ladies who were present could tell what the text
