The New Zealand Cup Protest IMsinissed.

Mr D. O'Brien, the owner of Gypsy King, intends taking legal proceedings against the stewards of the C.J.C. who dismissed his protest against Lochiel in the New Zealand Cup in order to compel them to declare the race null and void. Winning Payments. The stakes in connection with the C.J.C. Metropolitan meeting amount to £5,993 lis. The following are the sums over £100 :—Mr G. G. Stead, £3,31114s ; Mr H. Goodman, £476 18s; Mr D. O'Brien, £356 5s ; Mr P. Butler, £239 8s ; Mr W. C. Webbe, £168 3s; Mr P. Tancred, £15813s ; Mr J. Poole, £140 12s; Mr W. Russell, £111 3s ; Hon. G. McLean, £105 9s.
