FIVE MEN BURIED ALIVE.

Invercakgill, this day. At Glenham Tunnel on Edendalefortrose Railway five men, named Michael Gilbooly, John Garvey, William Nevall, John Richards and William Mahoney were buried by a fall of earth caused by tunnel subsiding. Yesterday afternoon Gilbooley and Garvey were dug outaliveandbrought to the Invercargill. To-day the dead bodies of Richards and Mahoney were recovered, but'Newall has not yet been found, and it is almost certain that he cannot be living, it is understood that all the men are married and have families. The coroner left this morning to hold an inquest at Wyndham.
