Thames, this day. Sly' Grog-Selling.
At :the Police yesterday the charge of sly grog-selling preferred against John Teddy, of Kirikiri, was dismissed. A similar case against his wife was held to bo proved, and a fine of £5 and costs wa g imposed. The cases occupied all day. Mr Baume, of Auckland, defended, Miscellaneous. The premises of Miss Johnston, milliner, Shortland, had a narrow escape froni being destroyed by fire yesterday, but fortunately it was' discovered in its incipient) state aha extinguished • , James Connor was yesterday sentenced to six days' imprisonment'for using pjbscene language.
