A meeting of the creditors of A. Warbrick was held at the office of the Official Assignee yesterday. The Assignee explained that the bankrupt had written on the Ist insfcsaying that he . had failed to raise money to comply with the resolution passed ab tho previous in*. He found that he could neither sell no°r raise money legally on his interest-in native land, but had offered-it to the Government through Captain Mair. He had no means to attend the present. meeting. The Assignee also explained that Warbrick had been examined on the 13th Oct. re boat, said to have been sold by him m September. The correspondence and affidavit forwarded by Mr lay lor, ot Rotorua, through Messrs McArthur and Co., were also read. These papers referred to the boab transaction and the affidavit by Te Rapanui showed that the following sums wero paid into the hands ot Warbrick in payment for the boat: on September sth, 1887, £25, and on September 6th, 18.37, £36 15s; total, £61 15s.
