Books Bound in Human Skins.
Cokt>ee, the murderer, of Maria Martin In the Bed Barn, whose malpractices thrilled Great Britain from one shore to the other, is reposing, or at least park of hpn is- reposing, quietly in the Athenaeum Library of Bury St. Edmunds. It appears that thd body of Corder having been oufr downy was taken away to be dissected* and tb© doctor who performed the operation, knowing that a "biography" of the murderer was about to be written, sent the author a piece of his skin, properly tanned and prepared, in which * a copy of the book was subsequently bound. This book ifc is which is to be found at the library referred to* Ife is worthy of note that a book was also bound in the skin of George Cudmore, who was executed for murder in 1830, and no> doubt other instances could be adduced to* grove the prevailing taste hi the matter of inding4.but.it is to be doubted, whether there is another example extant of a mnrl derer^s biography being bound in his own villainous skin. ■ .
