Wellington, this day. The Premier's election is to be petitioned against. I hear that at the solicitation of his supporters Mr McGuire has determined to petition against Major Atkinson'selection on the ground of corrupt practices which it is alleged havo lately come to light. The matter is now in a solicitor's hands, and a petitiou may be expected to be presented within the statutory time.
