BOARD OF EDUCATION.
The weekly meeting was held yesterday afternoon. Present :-Messrs Luke (Chairman), Lennox, Udy, Carr, and Theo Cooper. A grant of £3 10s was made for repairs to concrete Chairman's Report.-This report stated that Mr Evan R. Lillington had been appointed to take charge of Waitahi Creek School during Mr Heriot's absence on m"PJW sfic SCHOOL.-The visiting committee report stated: (1) That a grant of £275 had been voted by the commissioners of Education Reserves from the revenues of Secondary Education Reserves. (2) That a holiday had been granted to-day on the occasion^of the Grammar School sports and in commemoration of the success of the school at the Senior Scholarships examinatton; and (3) recommended that apphcaZ-,™ «hnnld be renewed for rarliaSenary authority to enable the Board to X funds on security of endowment.and a site for the erection of a school building. ."TsfKPRy% agreed to allow Miss Kidd to remain at Mount Eden School.
