Business Notices. A DVIC E T~O LADIES. The Ladies of Auckland are now casting about for their new SPRING AND SUMMER DRESSES. . Tho two considerations that weigh of most importance may be said to be—Pick and Price. A word of timely advice, therefore, may not bo out of place. Look around well before buying. Dozenß of Ladies select at first sigbt only to disappoint themselves by seeing an article a few days after that would be much preferred and often at a lower figure. For instance, a lady remarked only a couple of rlars since, " Did you | sec that charming and magnificent lot of prints i at Abbott's in Newton ? I feel quite vexed that I have bought." These were the actual words uttered, and we fear will be the sentiments of not afew, as they review tho stock now showing at the above-nanied's establishment. In reference to which R. H. ABBOTT & CO. wish to say that they have searched the markets in every direction to enable them to place before their patrons a choice, profuse, and unwearying variety of Prints. Hats, Bonnets, and Summer Goods in general, all at as reasonable a figure as it is possible for them to bo got for money. We havo now over 1,000 designs in jicw Prints, and our Stock will be replenished by Novelties by each steamer. We further beg to inform our well-wishers that, notwithstanding the undenied badness of the times, our trade shows an increase of from 50 to 70 per cent, month by month upon last year's trade. This is a great proof to us of public encouragement of our endeavours to place before the public an EXCELLENT VARIETY OF GOODS at the Lowest Obtainable Figure for Cash, and encourages us to still further efforts on behalf of our patrons. It has never been a part of our policy to deceive the piiblic in the slightest degree by large advertisements announcing bogus reducdons, etc. If we announce a Cheap Line, our customers can bear us out that it has never been over-described. We hope this season to open out from time to time Lines as Astonishing as Heretofore, of which announcement will be given. Besides offering Good Value and a Splendid Assortment of Beiges, Prints; Millinery, and Season Goods in general, wo have Just Opened a Job Lino of Boys', Youths', and small Men's Flax Shirts of Good Quality, at Is. each. The regular value of these is fully from Is. 9d. to 2s. 6d., at R. H. ABBOTT & CO., Karangahape Road, and Upper Symonds-street riHAS. ~YJ^T ILLIAMSO N, HOUSE, LAND & COMMISSION AGENT, 83, QUEEN-STREET. Bankers: NATIONAL BANK OF NEW ZEALAND. TELEPHONE NUMBER-181.
