Saxon.—The reef in the drive at. No. 3 level is 15 or 18 inches wide, and is composed of favourable - looking quartz. Good dabs of gold are seen in the hangingwall portion. A leading stope is being carried along over the drive, and colours of gold are also seen here when breaking down. A trial crushing of 8 loads of quartz from the reef at No. 4 level has produced about 8 oz. gold, or about 16 dwt. per load. - This is the reef being driven on towards the Trenton boundary, from which the face is now 140 feet distant.
