. Wanganui, this day. Mr Henry Churton, one of the oldest residents, died this morning. He was the founder of the college for educating Maoris, and some years ago, at the time of the war, was instrumental in procuring from the House of Commons compensation for losses, to.the settlers by the Maoris.
