INSECT PESTS.
(by telegraph—own correspondent.)
Wellington, this day. Comment is being made .upon the delay of the Department of State Forests and Agriculture in issuing the work on ravages of bight and other minute insects on trees and vegetables in the colony, the rights Of which were bought by the Government from the author, Mr W. M. Maskell, F.R.M.S. It is said that 2,000 copies of the books have been printed, and were ready for issue in June last. The season in which it is best to attack insect pests is at hand, but the books are still kept in the hands of the Department.
