Ik the School of Arts, Sydney, lately/^ri Spofforth delivered a very interesting and instructive lecture on " The Care of Irian; Life." There was a goodly gathering of ladies present. The lecturer dwelt' upon the duties of a mother in. caring for her. child, and the rearing -of her. children. With ragard to infant mortality, nearly one out of two infants in Sydiiey!
