Public Notices. MORE-T U B I L E E-MORE O, j ' '~,'.. J The Undersigned wishes to communicate with his fellow-settiers, and to state that, while loyally congratulating Her Majesty on attaining her Jubilee, he feels that that august Lady, by the accident of birth, careful thrift, and the presumed " Divine Right of Kings," has already a very considerable proportion of this worms good things for her enjoyment, and that the reverse of affluent settlers of this portion of her dominions should hardly be called upon for useless and wasteful expenditure. It would perhaps be more in accordance with tbe "fitness of things "if the position was somewhat reversed, , and the plethora of those figuratively "we!l filled coffers'alluded to, used to mollify the effects of the political ill-usage and exhaustion which this colony experiences to the full, and which her Majesty's representative here contributes to intensify. In a very small way m this direction C. T. Wren, while hoping for the advantage of having his well-filled nursery grounds depleted, to make room for suceessonal stock, proposes to contribute to the welfare of his fellow-settlers as follows — For all orders for nursery stock, accompanied by remittance received, or dated, from this time to the 30th of June, instant, inclusive, amounting to £10 and upwards, a Jubilee present of nursery stock to the value of £2 10s will be made :—On £3, as above, a present of ■SI. worth ; on £2, as above, 7s 6d; and on £1, 3s' worth will be given, as far as the stocks required can be supplied. 0. Orders must be executed in rotation, and now.is the time ! N.B.—On Vegetable and Flower Seeds and Seed Potatoes presents of seeds to the amount of one-half the scale as above will be made. Dear Sir,—lt has been on my mind for some time now to drop you a line about your Patent Porridge Meal. I believe you are aware IJiave suffered considerably from injury to thostomach from tea-tasting, and having consulted my medical adviser, he strongly recommended Porridge for breakfast, which-1 have; taken until I heard of your Patent Porridge Meal. I may here say the Oatmeal soon caused unpleasantness, sourness of the stomach, j:and£pimples and spots", with irritation, on the surface of the body. From this I was glad to get away, and at once took to your Patent Porridge Meali With it I find none of the irregularities com! plained of above, but a most palatable Porridge;. and tlie whole system free from iinpleasantness or irritation. 1 can strongly recommend it, and certainly think you should do a large trade in such an excellent article.—Yours very truly, ! (Signed) FREDK. WHITEHEAD. ! Industrial School, Kohimarama, i '; jAuckland, June 2,1557. Mr John Lamb, Sir,—We have now been using your Patent Porridge Meal at this school for two months; and I consider it but right to inform you that we all (staff as well as boys) like it so "well that I would find it a difficult matter to' get them td return to using oatmeal. It is without a doubt a splendid article of diet. I may add.on .my representing to the Education Department iri Wellington that I was using your Patent Por4 ridge Meal instead of Oatmoal, I received authority. from Rev. .Mr Habons, Secretary for Education, to continue its use in the school: —Yours faithfully, ; . ; (Signed) GEORGE P. Mr John Lamb. •; Dear Sir,—l thinkdtla duty to let you know results of .your new "Porridge Meal on our youngest boy. /He was weakly, and refused every food preparation that cou'd be got, but upon getting some of yours ho took to it at once, and afterwards nothing would satisfy him 'but this porridge. Five or six times a day is not too much for him, and seeing it, being prepared . cried until he got it. He is now strong and healthy, and can eat anything.
