THE JUBILEE CELEBRATION.
At 8 o'clock last evening the members of the Provincial District Grand Lodges and officers of lodges was held in . the' Masonic Hall, Princes-street. There was a large attendance. Brother G. P. Pierce, R.W.P.G.M.,1.C, presided. Brother Dr. Dawson and H. G. Wade represented the English Grand Lodge, and ■ Brother' M. Niccol, R.W.M., and Brother Farquhar Macrae, R.W.M. St: Andrew's Lodge, the Scotch ' Constitution. The business under consideration was the form which the celebration of the Queen's Jubilee should take. A lengthy and animated discussion ousu cd. Ultimately it was agreed on the motion of Brother Kidd, W.M., Ara, that a fund be raised, to be; called a Jubilee Masonic Fund, having for its object the relief of poor and destitute .' Masons and their widows and orphans, and that a committee be appointed to carry out the details. A committee, consisting of the Provincial and General Grand Masters and officers and Masters of Lodges was appointed to consider and report as to the best manner in which the objects of the resolution could becamed out.
