The final rehearsal of "The Merry Men of Sherwood Forest," the piece which;is to be performed at the Philharmonic Society concert on Monday evening next, passed off successfully. The music is very lively, and should meet with general favour. It is composed' by XV. H. Birch, and opens with an introduction by the orchestra entitled "The Chase," which is followed by solos and choruses. This will prove one of the most popular cantatas the Society has chosen. During the performance Miss Buckland will give a violin solo.
