The Exhibition of the Auckland Society of ? ' which was opened yesterday at twelve o'clock, opened again today at that hour, wh c . n alargo number of persons visited this best of art shows yet put before the public in Auckland. A pretty " water colour of Cannes, the city lately disturbed by the earthquakes in the sou tli of France, is worthy of notice, ai«> the collection of elementary mechanical drawings done by the pupils of the district school* in the ordinary course of class instruction. We did not notice .Mr.John C. Aorlon's pretty little picture of " The Little Fishwife " yesterday, because wo could not find out the artist's name. Jt is as pretty a sun-picture as we have seen for many a day. Some of Mr Valentino's beautifully-toned photographic views (lent by Mr (:'. Chapman) are well worthy of a visit, capitally lined as they arc in water colours.
