Street Work.—The Finance; Committee reported, as follows : —Recommended that j Hie foreman of works prepare and sub-j mit to the Council a specification of works required to he done in Artillery Koad and Rattray-street. That notice, under section 2Wof the Municipal Corporal ions Act, ISSG, be given to owners of property in these Greets, requiring them, within 14 days, to jierform the work specified, and informing tliem that failing compliance therewith the work will be done by the Council, and tho cost thereof recovered from the wiid owners >n proportion to their respective frontages. Certain conditions were recommended for leasing the cemetery reserve.—The report traa adopted.—Tho foreman of works also reported upon the various works required or :n progress in the borough.

PuBLTcLTORATtY.—The Mayor gave notice H motion for next meeting. '• That tho Mayor be requested to take a poll of tho ratepayers under the Public Libraries Act, 1869,.t0 ascertain whether the provisions of the Act shall be adopted in l>evonport." A plan •btw also submitted by Mr Bartlcy for * new Council chamber and library. The estimated cost was about £100.—The Council resolved to 'call for tenders forthwith.
