THE MAMMOTH MINSTRELS.
« I The Mammoth Minstrel Variety Troupe opened at the City Hall on Saturday evening "in a very interesting entertainment. Tho first half of the programme introduced his Company in tho chairs, with Mr Cecil Beryl as interlocutor. C. Francis and P. Doran as bones and Mr XV. Knowls and G. Small ns tambos. The opening selection was the Cooper's chorus from " Bocaccio " which was vory well rendered, after which the following items wore given:— Song, " Sweet angel of my dreams," . F. Edmonds; comic, '-The Lime Kiln Club," XV. Knowls; aong, '-The old homo ain't what it used to bo,' D. Sullivan; comic, " She was such a girl to laugh," C. Francis; neat song aud dance, " Hallo Baby," Dumont Bros. ; song, "Mother's Last Request," G. Clarke; song (comic), G. Small; song, "Only to sco her face again," R. Rcdfcrn ; comic, " Only eighteen pence." Tho first part of the performance concluded with the great metropolitan polico oxtravaganza, "Mot-iarty." After tho usual interval songs were rendered by Messrs C. F. Edmonds, U. Sullivan, G. Clark, and Cyril Beryl. Mr W. Knowls gavo tlio song and dance, "I'm a dandy," and the Dumont, Bros, a clog dance, whilst Messrs P. Doran and Beryl appeared in the comic skotch, " Rooms to Let.' i'he performance concluded wilh the laughable farce of " Tho First Round for John." The minstrels will appear again this evening, when a select dance will take placo aftor the Closo of tho usual performance.
