Tho suggestion to consider the question of a general disarmament of all tbo Europaan Powers, in order to roliovo the torrible strain which Europe is at present labouring undor, is meeting with much favour.
It was recently urged that the Pope should call a congress on the subject. Turkey has next takon the matter up, and her representatives in various European capitals are sounding tho powers with a view to ascertain whether the proposal would meet with their approval.
Tho question of choosing an occupant for tho throno of Bulgaria is apparently no nearer solution. Russia still favours the candidacy of the Prince of Mongrelia in ac. cordanco with proeont policy abosntioil from active intotferonceis not pressing his claims to the post. The Sobrango is proparod to re-elect Princo Alexandor.
