Both papsrs evidence considerable talent in tho respective writers. Tho romaindor of this explanatory journal 'consists of tho " Question Corner," "The Bible Clasp," for young inquirera, "ThoHomoCirclo," " TemperancD Pages," " Rulea for Young Folks," and several cood paragraphs, "A Skeleton in Every House," "Time to Quit," and "The Conversion of Toplady " (the well-known author of the famou3 hymn "Rockof Ages"). The "Bible Standard" is distinguished by purity of thought and literary excellence. g/The Police Court was'occupied tbip afternoon with the charge against William Anderson of staaling frcm tbe dwelling: of Albert Tyre a silver watch and gold chain, valued at £14, the property of Jobn Peterson. The prisoner is the man who was discharged from custody by order of Judge Ward, at tho recant 'criminal sessions of the Supreme Court in consequence of the absenca of witnesses. The charge against him then was of a similar nature to that now preferred. Prisoner was agaia'committed for trial.
