THE ANNUAL REGATTA.

Very little remains to bo added to our report of the Regatta. The email fishing boat race resulted in an easy win for tha Manola, with the Italy second, and Truant third. A protect has been lodged against S the Manola on tbo ground that shs ia over i tha tonnage limit, and that sho is not a fishing boat. The Naval Cutter Uaco was won by* tho Auckland crew, Devonport being second, and Thames last. A foul between - tho Thames and Devonport boats occurred early in the raco, and the latter assert that this lost them sevoral lengths, and destroyed their chance of winning, Tho Amateur Wbaleboat Kaee was very closely contested. Tbe course was straightaway irom a line near tho buoys anchored off the Watchman to the flagship, about ll miles- A splendid start was effected, and the boats kept very close fagg aether over about two-thirds of the eouree, Woitemata then drew ahead, but did not hold that position long. Thames camo to, tho front in lino stylo, and North Shore in turn put on a epurt and passed the visitors, winning by about a boat's length, Thames second, Walternates third and fourth, and Ponsonby last Thoßcgatta passed eff moat satisfactorily, and only ono protest (that already referred to) has been entered. -Tho Committee worked energetically throughout, and Mr C. C. Dacre (Secretary) ig desorving of epeoial praise for the able manner in which he discharged hit arduous duties. Thostartor.handioapper, and umpire' were aleo very attentive to their duties, and left nothing to be complained of. Captain Cromarty and the offic&rs of tho Ara'wata wero voty attentivo to those on board of the flagship, and the entering had due attention nt the hands of tho popular chief steward (Mr Wuddell).
