Interpretation. L The word * road," "street." or "track" shall, for the purpose of this By-law, mean and include all roads under the control of the Coromandel County Council. 2. The word "footpa'h" or "footbridge" means any road or bridge which ahall have b. on constructed for the use of foot passengers only. 3. Any person guilty of the following offences, omissions, or neglects, within the County ot Coromandel shall, on being convlotod of any such offence, omission, or neglect, be liable to pay any penalty not exceeding (E5) five pounds 1. Throwing or sweeping any glass, tilth, dirt, or rubbish, or other matter of a similar nature, upon or into any street, channel, footway, alley, or other public place whatsoovor. 2. Leading or riding any horse, or other animal, or drawing, wheeling, or driving any cart or sledge, or other thing, upon or along any footpath or footbridge, without permiasion from the County Council bo to do. 3. Drawing or trailing any timber or other material upon any footpath or road, to the injury of suoh footpath or road, without permission from the County Council. i. Furiously or negligently driving or riding any animal or vellole through any public sireet or thoroughfare, or who shall ride or drive round any corner of any street or road, at other thin a walking pace. 5. Any drlvor of any horse or vehlolo irjuring any person or property whatever by negligence. fl. Any person placing an obstruction upon any street, line, road, or track whereby life or limb is likely to be endangered. 7. Any person destroying or damaging, or obstructing any road, wharf, bridge, or drain. 8 Neglecting to clean any private yard, way, or passage, by which neglect a nutaanoe by offensive smell or otherwise ij caused. 9. Suffeiing or allowing the contents of any water-closet, privy, or cesspool to overflow or soak then. from, ao aa to be offensive.
