The News In Auckland.
VISION SEEN BY PENNS FATHFB,
No further information has roachtd tho Auckland police authorities with respect to tho arrest of Cafl'rey, and public excitoment seems to have cooled down now that the man arrested in New Seuth Wales has thrown oil the mask and admitted his identity with the murderer. Last night Superintendent Thomson received a telegram from tho authorities at Wellington confirming tho news published by us, and instructing him how to act. The first step to be taken is the despatch ol an officer — most probably Detective Tuohy, who had charge of the Waitokeroi expedition — by Tuesday's steamer to Sydney for the purpose of executing the warrant issued for Caffrey'B apprehension and bringing him back to Auckland for trial, Penn'e relatives havo of coureo heard of his reported death by drowning and aro inclined to believe it. When the news waa broken to Mr Ponn (the father) ho took it very quietly, saying that ho was expecting to bear that his son was dead, as he bad seen him in a vision about a fortnight ago.
