This evening, at 8 o'clock, Mr A. J, Vogan will give a lecture at the Auckland Institute on the recent explorations in New Guinea, last year tho Australian Geographical Society fitted out an expedition to explore the central portions of New Guinea, and, if possible, to cross tha island from side to side. The expedition was euocessful in penetrating further into the interior than any previous party had done, and obtained a great deal of valuable information on the physical features of the country, its inhabitants, etc. Mr Vogan accompanied the party in the capacity of artist, and we have no doubt his lecture will be listened to with considerable interest.
