Wellington, this day.—A case of some importance was hoard in the Supreme Court this morning. The plaintiff, Mr Pritchard, of Blenheim, bought in at sale, for £50 property over which he held a mortgage. Tho Stamp Office sought to charge him duty on tho whole value, £9,000, which he resisted. Judge Richmond decided that he was only liable to pay on £50,
Dunedi.n-, this day. —In the divorce Court, a decree nisi has beon granted to Sarah Emma Kilpatrick against James Kilpatrick, formerly an auctioneer in Dunedin, on the ground of cruelty and desertion. The respondent did not appear.
